Abstract

This article examines the social and psychological impact of distance learning, which has become increasingly widespread in modern education systems. It highlights the rapid transition to online learning and its influence on students’ social interaction and psychological well-being. The study is based on both qualitative and quantitative methods, including surveys and analysis of students’ experiences. The results show that while distance learning offers flexibility and convenience, it also reduces face-to-face communication, increases feelings of loneliness, lowers motivation, and raises stress levels. At the same time, it supports the development of self-management and independent learning skills among some students. The discussion compares these findings with previous research, analyzing both the advantages and disadvantages of online education. The conclusion emphasizes the importance of implementing supportive strategies, strengthening social interaction, and providing psychological support to minimize negative effects
