Abstract

This article examines the pragmatic mechanisms of emotional expressiveness and evaluation in television media headlines. The study focuses on the linguistic means through which television headlines attract audience attention, create emotional responses, convey evaluative meanings, and influence the initial interpretation of media content. Particular attention is paid to expressive vocabulary, evaluative lexical units, metaphors, phraseological expressions, rhetorical questions, exclamatory constructions, and other stylistic devices used to enhance the pragmatic impact of headlines. The analysis demonstrates that emotional expressiveness and evaluation are closely interconnected with the communicative objectives of television media discourse. Evaluative elements enable headlines to present events, persons, or situations from a particular semantic perspective, while expressive means increase their communicative intensity and memorability. The pragmatic effect of a headline is also determined by its interaction with visual and audiovisual components, including video footage, subtitles, sound, and graphic elements. The study concludes that emotional-expressive and evaluative mechanisms constitute important pragmatic resources of television media headlines, contributing to audience engagement, communicative orientation, and the formation of an initial interpretive framework for the subsequent media text.
