Abstract

This study analyzes how the English translation of Abdulla Qahhor’s Anor fails to fully convey the author’s intended meaning. The loss mainly occurs in culturally specific words, idioms, and expressions that carry social and emotional nuances unique to Uzbek culture. The paper argues that limited cross-cultural awareness leads to semantic reduction and stylistic flattening in the target text.
