ANNOTATION: This article examines the mechanisms for increasing the 
investment activity of joint-stock companies using the examples of developed 
foreign countries (USA, Germany, China, and Singapore). The institutional 
foundations of the capital market, corporate governance standards, and 
international practices of investment promotion are analyzed, and proposals are 
formulated on the possibilities of application in the conditions of Uzbekistan.
