Abstract

This article explores the development and transformation of chivalric romance in Medieval English literature. Initiating in the 12th century and reaching its zenith during the Middle Ages, chivalric romance became one of the most prominent genres, shaping literary practices, cultural values, and ideas about heroism. The examination focuses on the historical backdrop, thematic aspects, significant works, and the lasting impact of the chivalric romance tradition on the English literary legacy.
