Abstract

This scholarly article analyzes, on a scientific basis, the lives and works of writers in modern German literature who have been awarded the Nobel Prize. The study examines the activities of leading representatives of post-war German literature — Heinrich Böll, Günter Grass, Herta Müller, as well as the Austrian writer who writes in German, Peter Handke. Their life experiences, their connection with historical circumstances, and their aesthetic views are highlighted
