Abstract

This paper investigates the cultural and linguistic features of hospitality expressions in English and Uzbek languages. Hospitality is considered a universal cultural value; however, its linguistic realization varies significantly across cultures. The study explores how politeness strategies, speech acts, and cultural norms influence the way hospitality is expressed in both languages. The research applies a comparative linguistic and pragmatic approach to identify similarities and differences between English and Uzbek hospitality expressions. The findings show that while both languages emphasize respect, warmth, and social harmony, Uzbek expressions tend to be more culturally formal and honor-based, whereas English expressions are more direct and context-dependent.
