Improving English writing and speaking skills with AI

Abstract

This paper examines how artificial intelligence (AI) tools help students improve their English writing and speaking skills. Modern learners increasingly use AI platforms such as ChatGPT, QuillBot, and Speak AI because they are flexible, practical, and easy to access. These tools can correct grammar mistakes, improve vocabulary, provide pronunciation feedback, and help users organize essays and daily writing. AI also allows learners to practice English anytime through interactive communication and personalized exercises.The study highlights that AI can increase fluency, confidence, and understanding of grammar rules. However, it also has some disadvantages, such as limited real-life communication, lack of emotional interaction, and overdependence on technology. The paper concludes that AI is an effective supportive tool for language learning when combined with regular human practice and independent study.
